CELLULITIS
Cellulitis is a common bacterial infection of the skin and the soft tissues underneath.
CAUSES of CELLULITIS
- Injuries that tear the skin
- Infections after surgery
- Long term skin conditions like Eczema or psoriasis
- Foreign objects in skin
- Bone infection under the skin.
- Headache
- Low energy and loss of appetite
- Swelling near an injury or the groin or armpits.
SYMPTOMS of CELLULITIS
- Redness
- Red streaks
- Swelling
- Warmth
- Pain or tenderness
- Leaking of yellow, clear fluid or pus
CELLULITIS
Treatment of CELLULITIS
- IV or oral antibiotics
- Limb elevation
- Pain relief medication
- Drinking plenty of water
- Regularly moving the affected part of the body to prevent stiffness.
- Avoid compression stockings, bandaging and massage till the inflammation subsides.
